Dr. Emily Derouin

I am a licensed psychologist dedicated to working with people going through challenging times in their lives. I am specialized in eating and body image concerns, depression, anxiety, OCD, relationships, and life changes. I center my work around each individual’s unique attributes, and I focus on helping people utilize their inherent self-worth, personal strengths, and individual goals. Using this approach, I help navigate the gap between who we know we are and what others expect of us.  I use my warmth and gentle humor to help my clients feel at ease and dig into the work of living their fullest lives.

Experience: I have spent the majority of my career working in community mental health in the Denver Metro area. In addition to my work at Simons Therapy, I currently work as a Psychologist at Jefferson Center for Mental Health. I formerly served as a clinical supervisor at Mental Health Partners in Boulder, CO. I worked as a Crisis Clinician at Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners in which I helped people in acute mental health and substance use crises gain support and secure mental health services. I also enjoy teaching and training students and served as an Affiliate Professor teaching Theories of Counseling course at Metropolitan State University.

States Served: I am fully licensed in Colorado and also practicing inter-jurisdictionally under the Psych Pact. I hold also temporary licensed in a few states. I work with people physically located in the following states:

B.A. in Psychology: St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin. Studied abroad at University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand.
