Dr. Maggie Donovan

I have expertise working with children, adolescents, and adults regarding a variety of psychological concerns, including body image, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. I take a collaborative approach with my clients by empowering them to gain insights into their own strengths and change negative self-perceptions. I work mainly from a cognitive behavioral mindset and enjoy helping clients gain insight into how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence each other. I am passionate about helping people learn how to challenge negative thoughts, regulate emotions, and adjust behaviors in order to promote personal growth.

Experience: I have years of experience working with adolescents and young adults at the college level, having held training positions at Richard M. Daley College, California State University Fullerton, and Santa Monica College. During those years, I worked with individuals on issues regarding body image, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, adjustment, and numerous other concerns. I also have clinical expertise with children, having trained at Youth Services of Glenview-Northbrook in the northern suburbs of Chicago and served as a teacher and supervisor in the BASE Program, which provides elementary students with lessons on socio-emotional functioning.
