Jordan Carelock, LSW
I am a Licensed Social Worker, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. I also have experience working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, and other co-occurring disorders. I’m especially passionate about exploring clients’ relationships with food, body image and identity. My therapeutic style includes a collaborative approach, helping the client reconnect to their own values and sense of self. I enjoy incorporating RO-DBT, particularly when addressing shame and self-criticism. I believe a social support system is one of the most important parts of a client’s experience so I strive to model a space that honors vulnerability and growth.
I view individual, couples, and family therapy as a collaborative journey of self-exploration and discovery, guiding clients toward greater self-awareness, resilience, and fulfillment. I utilize a diverse range of therapeutic modalities to meet the unique needs of each client. From cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), polyvagal theory, and mindfulness, I integrate evidence-based interventions to foster healing and empowerment. Through collaborative exploration and skill-building, clients learn to navigate challenges with resilience and develop healthy coping strategies.
Experience: I have several years of experience conducting group, individual, couples, and family therapy with teens and adults in eating disorder and psychiatric treatment settings. I currently serve as a primary therapist at Guidelight Health’s in their Intensive Outpatient Program. I also served as a primary therapist and behavioral health counselor supervisor at Eating Recovery Center. I enjoy helping individuals and their families navigate struggles with eating disorders, body image and co-occurring mental health diagnoses. In addition, I am trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT), a cognitive-behavioral therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD, and related conditions.
